What happens at the site visit
Someone walks the property with you. They will look at the tree from more than one angle, check the base for fungal brackets and root plate movement, look at where the limbs are weighted, and work out how sections would get from the canopy to the chipper.
Then you get options rather than a single number. Very often the cheapest sensible answer is a reduction rather than a removal, and it is worth hearing that before committing to taking a tree out. If it does come out, the cost guide explains what will be on the quote.
Emergencies
Storm season on the Sunshine Coast runs roughly November through March, and the calls that follow a big cell are always the same: a limb through a roof, a tree across a driveway, a stem split at the union.
The order of operations matters. Get people away from the tree. If anything is touching power lines, call Energex on 13 19 62 first. If the tree is on a house and the house is unsafe, call 000. Then ring us, and describe what is resting on what - that determines whether the job needs a crane, an EWP, or just a climber and a saw.

Frequently asked questions
What should I have ready when I call?
The suburb, roughly how tall the tree is compared to the house, the species if you know it, what is underneath and beside it, and how wide the side access is. Those five things let us say straight away whether the job is a couple of hours or a full day.
How quickly can someone come out?
Quotes are generally within a few days. Hazardous work - a split stem, a hung-up limb, a tree resting on a structure - is handled ahead of the schedule. Lead times stretch after a big storm because everyone on the coast is ringing at once.
A tree is on the power lines. Who do I call?
Energex on 13 19 62, immediately, and keep everyone at least eight metres away. Only Energex or an accredited line-clearing contractor can work near live conductors. Do not attempt to move the tree or the wire yourself.
Do you do work for body corporates and businesses?
Yes. Strata buildings, schools, resorts, caravan parks and commercial sites are all regular work. These jobs get scheduled around occupancy and usually involve exclusion zones and, where a drop zone touches a road, traffic management.
