What this site is
Sunshine Coast Tree Care is a referral website. It exists to connect people who need tree work on the Sunshine Coast with arborists who can actually do it, and to publish the sort of straightforward information the industry mostly does not bother to write down.
That is stated here, in the footer, and on the disclaimer page, because the alternative - pretending to be a crew with a depot and a fleet - is the thing that makes people distrust trade websites in the first place.
What we look for in a crew
Not everyone with a chainsaw and a ute belongs on your property. The baseline is a formal arboricultural qualification, current public liability insurance, workers compensation cover for everyone on site, and a working knowledge of the Australian Standard for pruning, AS 4373-2007.
Beyond the paperwork, the thing that separates good operators is what they refuse to do. A crew that will top a tree because the customer asked for it is a crew that will leave you a hazard. A crew that quotes over the phone is guessing.
Why we publish so much
The guide library on this site runs to more than twenty pieces covering pruning technique, stump removal methods, tree regulations and what different jobs cost. It exists because most of the questions that come in on the phone are the same questions, and a page answers them better than a hurried conversation.
If you are trying to work out whether your tree needs removing or just reducing, or whether to grind or excavate a stump, the answer is probably already written down.
Local conditions we work around
The Sunshine Coast is a demanding place to keep trees standing. Cyclonic wind region B ratings apply along the coast. Summer storm cells coming off the range regularly bring down limbs on trees that looked fine the day before. Salt-laden onshore wind burns foliage on exposed frontages. And the hinterland has steep basalt country carrying trees far larger than anything on the coastal plain.

Not directly. Sunshine Coast Tree Care is a referral website. Enquiries made here are passed to qualified, insured arborists working on the Sunshine Coast, and one of them contacts you to arrange the site visit. You deal with that business from the quote onwards.
What qualifications should a tree crew hold?
For climbing and removal work, AQF Level 3 in Arboriculture is the practical benchmark, with Level 5 for anyone writing arborist reports. Ask to see public liability insurance and workers compensation cover as well - qualifications without insurance still leave you exposed.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. A quote involves someone coming to the property, looking at the tree, the access and the drop zone, and talking through the options. There is no charge and no obligation.
